David Crichton-Watt, Chairman and Investment Manager, manages the Phoenix Gold Fund. He graduated from Glasgow University in 1969 with an honors degree in law. He worked for stock broking companies in New York and London and, after 1972, in Singapore and Hong Kong, before founding Asian Investment Management Services in Hong Kong in 1982. In 1996 he decided to move to Malaysia, and established AIMS Asset Management Sdn Bhd, which assumed the management of portfolios previously run by the Hong Kong company.

Nik Hanim Nik Mahmood, Managing Director, graduated from University College London with a BSc in Economics and Statistics in 2002 and London School of Economics with a Masters in Accounting and Finance in 2003. She was in Equity Research at Credit Suisse Malaysia from 2003 to 2007. She joined AIMS Asset Management as a Research Analyst in 2007, became a Fund Manager in 2011 for the Alwaha Fund, and was appointed Managing Director in 2017.

Claire Barnes, Investment Manager, manages the Apollo Asia Fund. She graduated from Cambridge University in 1979 with a degree in mathematics. She has spent almost all of her working life in Asia, working for James Capel, W.I. Carr (Overseas), and Barclays de Zoete Wedd where she was head of Asian research, before setting up consultancy businesses in Hong Kong and India. She gained professional experience in over twenty countries before initiating the setup of Apollo Asia Fund during the Asian Financial Crisis.

Lim Kooi Ting, Head of Operations, graduated from University of Malaya, with a Bachelor in Accounting Degree. She is a member of ACCA. She commenced her career with KPMG in 2008 as an auditor. In 2012, she joined AIMS Asset Management.

Eileen Sim, Compliance Officer, is a finance graduate from the University of Hertfordshire. Prior to joining AIMS Asset Management in July 2016, she worked in established asset management companies in Malaysia, and brings with her five years of experience in compliance roles. She is fully dedicated to the compliance role in AIMS and ensures adequacy of operational risk management in the Company.

YM Tengku Maruan Tengku Ariff, Non-Executive Director, graduated from the University of Huddersfield in 1979 with a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering. He began his career with Citibank in 1980 before joining Southern Bank Berhad as Head of Personal Banking Division in 1985. In 1996 he moved to Rohas Sdn Bhd (“Rohas”) as General Manager, and served on the board of several Rohas-related companies until his retirement from Rohas in 2008. Currently, he is a board member of a public company and several private limited companies.
